Trainer Spotlight: Annie Uttaro

Where are you originally from?

I am originally from Newton, Massachusetts, a city about 10 minutes outside of Boston. I moved to Los Angeles in 2014.

What inspired you to become a trainer?

I have been active from a young age. During high school, I found a real passion for going to the gym. When friends would ask me, "what are you doing to look so fit?" I would offer them to work out with me. One friend, in particular, went from a size 14 to a 4, just from doing my routines. That was the most rewarding feeling, and I knew I wanted to do that for more people. That inspired me to get involved in group fitness.

What is one goal you would like to accomplish during your lifetime?

My dream has always been to open and run my own business. I have always had that entrepreneurial spirit!

If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be?

Energetic, motivated, loyal.

What can people expect when they come to your class?

My classes will always be high energy. I like to utilize a lot of different tools, so although there will be some consistency, clients will get to try new things as well. I love all types of music, and try to bring something for everyone. To keep energy levels high, I often choose different genres of music that have a good beat.
