Congratulations to Kati Kern our April MVB

Every month we ask all of our trainers and staff to submit names of who they believe is deserving of our highest achievement- Most Valuable Burner ( MVB) . Moving forward, I invite YOU-  our clients to nominate your peers for this prestigious award. You are all doing the work together- why shouldn’t you be cheering each other on and acknowledging each other?

Is there a special client that you believe deserves this accolade? Please email me at janet@burn60.com and tell us why you think someone in the Burn community is next MVB on our list.

I admit, my heart always swells when I read these responses because they are truly from the heart. Everyone has a reason that they workout and it is always my privilege to share their stories with you- our awesome clients.

Here are a few fun facts about Kati’s history with Burn:

  • Her first class was on August 24, 2014, with Kris.
  • She has taken class from 18 different instructors. (Although 95% have been with Nick or Keith)
  • Kati has taken a total of 405 classes
  • She averages 2-3 classes a week mostly at 8:15a.

To give you some comparisons since she's walked through our doors 4 years ago:

  • She's run the equivalent of 1200 miles or the distance between LA and Chicago.
  • She's burned over 200,000 calories — or 57 lbs. (that’s 800 Snickers bars)

A few words with Kati-

Tell us about your first class at Burn on Sunday, August 24, 2014, with Kris?

I remember feeling a unique combination of utter exhaustion as well as an internal strength that I had never achieved from another workout class. I can remember needing to take naps when I first started the work out and now, if I skip a work out, I am finding myself tired!

Do you have a favorite instructor or class?

I will never say NO to an 8:15am Keith or Nick class

What is your favorite and least favorite exercise?

I love long endurance runs and I could live without Burpees

What do you love most about Burn and what keeps you coming back?

I love the level of commitment that both the instructors and athletes bring to every class.  Everything from the music, to the work out, to the friendly competition, keeps me coming back week after week.

What has been your greatest accomplishment inside the studio?

My greatest accomplishment is hopefully yet to be achieved...Burn 60 has a way of pushing you far beyond the goals you set. Thank you again for this high honor :) Katie also just ran her first 11.0!

Kati has been a rock-star ever since her first class years ago. Brings Such a positive attitude every time and works her ass off the entire 60 minutes. Love her loyalty and dedication. Thanks Kati!!!! - Nick Malizia
I LOVE coaching Kati.  She brings her max effort to every workout and has the hugest smile on her face when it’s over!  She set a goal to hit 11.0 on the tread by May and accomplished it!!  Kati, you’re a sweetheart and an athlete! - Keith Anthony
