March Most VAluable Burners - Josh Shokri + Jonathan Parzivand

Recognize these intense Burners? If you train with any regularity at 6a or 7a, you know Josh and Johnny. These 2 rock stars are religious about their morning workouts and always give 100%. They are often found competing with one another on the tread trying to be the first to hit a 15.0.  Their enthusiasm is contagious. Here are some fun facts about this dynamic duo: Josh kicked off his relationship with Burn in 2016 with Keith. Today, he can often be found at 6:00a arguing with Liam. Josh makes Burn a priority approximately a minimum of 3x a week. Johnny has attended over 354 classes over the last 2 years averaging 15 classes a month or 4 classes a week in Brentwood.

In 2019, this terrific twosome have already logged in 20 classes together. Individually, Josh has taken 46 classes and Johnny has taken 53. I wonder if they are competing for the most classes in 2019?

We sat down with our winners to ask them some questions about their time hitting goals at Burn 60:

Johnny’s Responses:

Tell us about your first class at Burn 60. How did you feel after it?

My first class at Burn 60 was about two years ago, an Elite Burn with Liam I believe. I was so terrified, but somehow I made it out alive and all I can remember is I couldn’t get out of bed the next morning. I was so sore, everything hurt.

Do you have a favorite instructor or class?

My favorite instructor has to be Liam, and his 6a Elite Burn. Never have I had one class or one instructor bully me so much or push me to my limits the way Liam has and being the competitive person that I am, I love it!

What is your favorite and least favorite exercise?

My least favorite exercise has to be jump lunges. They are excruciatingly painful for me.

What do you love most about Burn and what keeps you coming back?

My favorite part about Burn is the challenge of meeting every milestone for every exercise and the atmosphere of a competitive group workout. You surround yourself with motivation between great instructors and of course always push yourself to become better.

What has been your greatest accomplishment inside the studio?

My greatest accomplishment is beating Shokri every class, JK. Spiriting at 15.0 MPH and being able to do a 2:34 half mile. However overall, I would say losing 27 lbs since I began training at Burn 60 while leaning out and adding muscle at the same time.

What is your favorite motivational fitness quote?

“ 'Working Out' and ‘Training’ are connected, but also completely different things. You need to Work Out and Learn before you can Train. “ - Liam

Josh’s Responses:

Tell us about your first class at Burn 60. How did you feel after it?

My memory is so horrible that I can't remember that far back. But, I can tell you after every Burn class, I feel like I did enough cardio for the day.

Do you have a favorite instructor or class?

My favorite class is the Elite Burn by far. It's short and super high intensity.

What is your favorite and least favorite exercise?

My favorite is short sprints, .10, .15, + .20.

My least favorite is leg exercises on the floor since I have the worst knees in the game.

What do you love most about Burn and what keeps you coming back?

It's always consistent. You know you will burn at least 500-800 calories depending on the class and the instructor. I keep coming back because I hate cardio! Burn makes it easy.
What has been your greatest accomplishment inside the studio?

It would for sure be holding a 15 mph for a minute and 5 seconds while Johnny was screaming and calling me a bitch.

What is your favorite motivational fitness quote?

Work hard in silence. Let success be your noise.
