Educated. Driven. Personable. Christian's all about spreading his wealth of fitness and health knowledge. If you haven't taken his class, you're missing out!
Where are you originally from?
I was born in New Jersey. Moved to Florida, went to high school and college there. Then spent some time in Georgia, that's where my fitness career began. I wanted to take it to the next level so I moved out to LA and loved it! Been here ever since.
What inspired you to become a trainer?
Seeing unhealthy people, especially in my family inspired me to want to make a change in peoples lives. First here in California, the U.S. and then the world - that's my end game. Working at Burn 60 has given me a platform to get my message out. Someone tells their friends about nutrition or a workout and then another friend, then another friend... it just spreads like wildfire.
What attracted you to Burn?
The energy and location. I actually took a class with Kris Cueva and I loved it. He told me they were opening up a studio in WEHO and I joined the team.
What's been your greatest accomplishment in life?
Either getting my CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist), which is a difficult trainer certification to get. Big text book and lots of tests. Or my 1 year Precision Nutrition level 2 certification. Every day I had an assignment, every day I had a new habit to perform and every 2 weeks I had a case study.
It wasn't just learning about stuff like what happens to glycogen when it goes into the body, but how to communicate to clients about how glyocogen affects the body, and to use that knowledge to motivate them. It taught me a lot about the psychology of the trainer-client relationship. How to get in their head, make them feel comfortable and motivate them to get results. If a client doesn't trust me or feel comfortable, he/she's not going to tell me their real goals. That why I always dig deep and personally connect with my clients to bring out the best in them.
What can people expect when they come to your class?
A great workout and awesome music, but most importantly they're going to learn a lot about form and nutrition. My favorite part of class is when I take everyone out on the patio and stretch. That’s where I really get to know the clients and help them optimize their eating and recovery habits to see results faster and avoid injury.
