Now three full weeks into her fitness journey with us, Julia is seriously starting to feel the burn! During week one, she conquered six of our classes in just seven days, but quickly realized that if she was going to make it all the way down the aisle, she would need to develop a more sustainable plan of action.
When beginning any new exercise regimen, it is important to take a couple of things into consideration. First, your current state of physical fitness. You want to push yourself to grow beyond this point, but you don't want to do so in such a way that may cause over exertion or possibly even injury. Be truthful about where you're starting and remember that when it comes to your health, you always want to play the long game.
Next, clarify your desired results. The key here is to make sure that you are not setting yourself up for failure by desiring results that are unrealistic for your body type or the amount of time you have given yourself to achieve these results. For example, if you are 5ft tall and broadly built, there is no amount of exercise you can do to attain the legs of a 5'9" runway model. Similarly, if you want to lose 10 lbs, you should allow yourself at least 5-6 weeks to do so because someone who is healthfully working to lose weight can expect to lose 1 - 2 lbs per week.
With her wedding only three short months away and a desire to feel confident, strong and sexy on her big day, Julia has committed herself to three Burn 60 classes a week paired with two cross-training workouts. This routine will allow her body ample time to recover from our hard hitting, HIIT-style sessions, but and also ensure that she is active for at least one full hour five days a week!
Julia has grown partial to our early morning classes because she insists that they give her something to look forward to no matter what. She is already noticing improvements in her running stride and can see her arms getting stronger. She's even discovered a passion for sprinting that she never knew she had!
So what's in store for the coming weeks? Well, Julia is determined to keep at it. She will be traveling a bit, but we have already arranged for her to complete some great Burn 60-trainer-approved workouts while on the go. Stay tuned, we plan to share them with you as well!
