8 skinny super bowl snacks

Regardless of who you're rooting for this season, the Super Bowl is, hands down, the best excuse you'll have all year to get your snack on. The trick is finding ways to do this without derailing your 'get fit/stay healthy/live happy..." New Year's resolutions.

Our trainers searched far and wide for recipes that won't deflate your New Year's success (we're sorry - we had to). These are their favorites.

light HOT artichoke dip

what you'll need:

garlic cloves

green onion, chopped

1/3 c. grated parmesan cheese 

1/3 c. light mayonnaise 

1/4 c. neufchâtel cream cheese (1/3 less fat)

1 T fresh lemon juice 

1/4 t. crushed red pepper 

12 oz. thawed, frozen artichoke hearts

all natural cooking spray

how to make it happen:

Preheat oven to 400°. Place garlic cloves and chopped green onion in a food processor; process until chopped. Add Parmesan, mayonnaise, cream cheese, lemon juice, and crushed red ­pepper; process until almost smooth. Stir in artichoke hearts. Spoon mixture into a 3-cup gratin dish coated with cooking spray. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.*
